One Lovely Blog Award

Oh my goodness, thank you Lexi for nominating us for the One Lovely Blog Award. That’s awesome! Folks be sure to go and visit Lexi at  she is very special.

So according to the rules of this award we need to tell 7 things you might not know about ourselves.  So here we go:                                                                                                           Lucy Kitty: I was born on the farm and when I was a little kitten just learning how to climb I climbed up to the windows in the landing between the first and second floors of the house and meowed to be let into the house.  It looked like such a fun place to be.  I did it three times with my Margret bringing me into the window and back outside before she called my Greg and asked if I could become an indoor kitty with Pete Cat.    My Greg said said yes and 15 years later I’m still ruling the roost.

Linus Kitty: Shhh…don’t tell anyone but I’m really a Golden Retriever.                               My best friend Belle taught me everything I need to know about being a pup.

Bonnie Pup:  I’m the “gotta go chime” ringer if Bess or sometimes Belle need to go out or come back in. I take my job very seriously.

Belle Pup: If Bonnie or Bess don’t want to come in the house right away my Margret tells me to go get them so I go out give them my sister stare and in they come.  I also go wake up my Greg on Sunday Mornings.

Bess Pup: I have a mohawk on my nose instead of my head. It’s really quite stylish.

 Bonnie and Belle are littermates.

Bonnie Belle and Bess share the name Belle.  Their AKC names are Abbott’s Timber Creek Bonnie Belle, Mae Belle and Bessie Belle.    Belle looked more like a Belle than a Mae so she became Belle.  There are days when our Margret wants to call us Charley, Sam, and Ed when she goes though all the B’s to find the name of who she is talking to!

Now here are our Nominees:                                                                                                        Storm and Andrew at

Back To Normal!

Do you notice anything different? Yep, that’s right no more Cone of Royalty for this girl!

My Greg and Margret took me today to get my stitches out.  I didn’t want to go for a ride and after planting my stubborn paws down and not budging from the house. My Greg picked me up and carried me to the car.  My Margret sat in the back to keep me company but when I’m scared I want to be by my Greg instead.   After a few minutes of trying to sit in his lap I moved over and sat in the passenger seat. I did the same thing on the way home when my Margret was driving, they noticed that I’m not as afraid of riding when I am sitting in that seat.  Well of course not, because I’m too busy being a much needed co-pilot to be scared.

Oh and the tech that took out my stitches was really nice, I remembered her from before. I made her stop twice while she was taking out my stitches so I could give her a kiss and she could pet me.  She kept calling me “sweet girl.”

Best of all I got to be out in the pup porch and pen with Belle and Bess now and it was so much fun we got to play in the mud!    I’m so glad to be back to normal.  I think everyone else is too!

This is Bonnie the “no more wearing the Cone of Royalty stitch free” pup signing off for the rest of the pups and kitties.

Blogger Recognition Award

blogger recognition award

This past week we were given the Blogger Recognition Award from our buddy Noodle  Thank you Noodle you are awesome!  The Pups, Kitties and I really appreciate it!

Now we get to recognize and share some other blogs.  I think you’ll really enjoy them so check them out if you haven’t already.                                                                                    The Cricket Pages follow the life of Cricket and Butterfly, they are cute Cockapoos and it’s always fun to read what they are up to.                                                                                          Sawyer, who is a Jack Russell Terrier shares his adventures through photos.  The photos are beautiful and makes you feel like you are there with him.                                                                                                  Tails of a Crazy Dog Mom follows Tucker the Golden Retriever, and also shares useful information on dogs in general and product reviews.    Travels With Choppy, Choppy loves to share jokes and plays “Where Choppy” which results in a lot of chuckles.

Our blog was started because folks seemed to enjoy stories about our loveable crew so I thought it would be fun to give them their own blog so they could maybe make other folks chuckle as well.   The pups and kitties used to have me write for them but lately they have wanted to write their own blog posts with just some keyboard help from me.

My advice for new Bloggers?                                                                                                     Don’t compare yourself to other bloggers, you are unique as is your blog.

Think about what you want your blog to accomplish, entertain, inform ect…and keep that in mind while writing.

Most of all enjoy, it takes time and energy to write so have fun with it.

Nominees here are your tasks:

1-Select other blogs you want to give the award to (up to 15).
2-Write a post to show your award.
3-Give a brief story of how your blog started.
4-Give a piece of advice or two to new bloggers.
5-Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
6-Attach the award badge to the post.
7-Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them.

The Plan

So like I had this plan. If I kept taking out and losing the clip thingys then pretty soon I wouldn’t have to wear this silly cone.

It almost worked too!

Last night my Margret took off my cone to see how it would go.  It went great for about an hour then I started licking my owie again. I mean come on it’s ITCHY!!!!

But I knew we were running low on extra clips so I thought HA! I had it made.

Um, what’s a zip tie?

Three Days!

My Margret says it’s going to get better, I hope she’s right although I’ve noticed that she tries to look at the bright side of things to encourage us. So I don’t know maybe this is the way it’s always going to be.

What? You want to know what I’m talking about. Well, let me tell you, I’m the one who keeps things going around here. Without me my Margret and my Greg wouldn’t know what to do, that’s what they tell me at least. But lately, well I don’t know if they still feel that way.

It started about a  month ago, Bess went away and came back, and wasn’t as bouncy as she usually is which was really ok but then the bounciness  came back.  She’s back to being rude and pushing her way to the front again. Whether it’s first out the door, first back in the door, first to be petted she just has to be first and bouncy about it to boot! My Margret says she and my Greg are working on teaching Bess manners but that part of it is that she is still young and it’s going to take time.  Well time needs to hurry up!

Then about 10 days ago Bonnie went away and came back and had to wear that silly thing my Margret calls the Cone of Royalty.  I remember how it felt to wear it when I had to wear it last year so when Bonnie wanted me to lick her owie I did what any good sister would do and I did but then got told to leave it!  Well I do like to do what I’m told so I did but then Bonnie was mad at me *sigh*.

Then Bonnie gets to stay in the house on the soft cushy couch  during the day while I have to go out in the pup porch and pen with the even more bouncy than usual Bess,   I have to entertain AND keep her out of trouble and that’s quite a job let me tell you. Bonnie usually does the entertaining and I keep them both out of trouble.

So I’m letting my Margret and my Greg know how hard my life is. When my Margret calls us to go outside I snuggle down a bit more so she can’t see me and say “no” real quietly.  Then she comes to me with a frowny face, I hate frowny faces and says “let’s go” in her mom voice, so I go but as slowly as possible, I guess that shows her!

Last night when it was time for bed I didn’t want to go upstairs with them, again in an effort to show them, but then my Margret sat down and started cuddling me and talking softly to me, reminding me that they can’t go to sleep unless I’m upstairs with them.  That they would miss me too much.  She also said the past 10 days have been really not fun at all for anyone in our house and that in 3 days Bonnie’s stitches will come out and things will go back to normal again.  She also said I’ve been a big help and a very good sister to both Bonnie and Bess. That helped and when I went upstairs my Greg was there to pet me and tell me what a good girl I was so I’m glad that I decided to go up with them.

3 days she says…ok I’ll give them 3 days but then things better be better around here!

This is Belle, signing off for the pups and the kitties.

This is Margret: Things have been tough on Belle, she doesn’t like change and with both Bess and Bonnie having their lady surgeries this past month it’s been one long month of not normal stuff.   Never fear she has had her share of love and cuddles and she has more than enjoyed her share of cheese when her sisters had their medicine which was wrapped in cheese.     I do agree and echo Belle when I say, 3 days…but then things better be better around here!

Balloons and Streamers

Bess 1yr

I don’t know why my Margret is so happy this morning, she’s saying something about “balloons and streamers falling from the sky.”

Last night she told me we needed to sleep until the alarm went off this morning. The other last night I discovered that when I stand on her and lick her face to wake her up she doesn’t disapper when she puts her head under that blankey thing, she’s still there!  When I find her she says “it’s still bedtime Bess!”  It was a fun game so we played it a lot.

But I didn’t feel like playing it last night. I was tired and wanted to sleep instead…so I did. But maybe we can play it tonight!

This is Bess signing off.

Back to the Vet

I had to go back to the Vet today, although it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be.  When my Margret said we needed to go I put all 4 of my stubborn paws down and stayed firm!  It’s really cold outside and I just wanted to. stay. home.  But my Margret encouraged me each step of the way and stopped short of carrying me down the steps but by the time I got outside I forgot it wasn’t my idea and I told her to hurry up so we could go and away we went.

It was a lot different walking into the waiting room this time around.  There was another German Shepard but this one was 10 weeks old and there were two Weimaraner pups that also looked to be about 10 weeks old.  I heard my Margret say that it was a waiting room full of cute!     A man walked in and clearly understood dogs because he asked my Margret if he could pet me, he talked really nice to me and I almost remembered to not jump up but I quickly sat when my Margret reminded me to.  The German Shepard puppy wanted some attention too so he ended up petting both of us at the same time.

I had to go back to the vet  because my tummy owie really hurts and the dr wanted to make sure that it wasn’t infected.  Apparently I had something called complications during my surgery and my tummy owie is bigger because of that so it hurts more.  The Tech gave my Margret something called ointment that tastes really bad to put around my owie so Belle, Bess and I won’t want to lick it.  I can’t reach it anyway although I sure keep trying and now my sisters won’t want to do it for me *sigh*.  On a good note my Margret  said I get to pretend I’m at a spa which is awesome because I’ve always wanted to go to a spa,  my tummy owie has swelled up so I get to have hot packs on it twice a day until it gets better.

It’s been a really busy afternoon and I just want to go lay down on my blanket next to my Margret and take a snooze so this is Bonnie signing off for the pups and kitties.
