We took Belle to CGC class last night and she did much better. Bonnie pup stayed home this week so we could focus on Belle. Greg was Belle’s main support and trainer and I was her backup support. Lora had two barriers set up, one with a sheet that Belle could not see through and one with two towels and a couple of gaps that she could see through.
Belle on her own peered around the barriers to see what was happening, Greg let her take her time she practiced the tasks in her area and by the end of class she was participating in an exercise where the people with their dogs walk past each other mimicking meeting people on a walk. She walked up to the other two dogs to “say” high and only had 3 anxious times the entire time we were there Greg was able to talk to her and the episodes lasted less than a minute each.
So we consider last night’s class a success, A big thank you to Lora for her suggestions and patience in helping our Belle work through this.
Now for the fun stuff, we brought home 3 new chewing toys for the pups over the weekend, the following pictures show the fun they had.
